Queer Geek News Roundup: December 3, 2017

  • The trailer for the long-awaited Avengers: Infinity War has arrived, promising team-ups of pretty much everyone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as six years' worth of Thanos teases finally pay off.

  • Chinese actress Liu Yifei will play the title role of one of Disney's best Strong Female Characters in their upcoming live-action Mulan remake.

  • Netflix has ordered two seasons of a new Sabrina the Teenage Witch series. Don't expect anything resembling the Melissa Joan Hart version; this will be based on the current Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic, which features a much darker, horror-oriented take on the characters (but yes, there is still a talking cat around).

  • In other Netflix news, I'm fully expecting their big-budget body-hopping cyberpunk series Altered Carbon (based on author Richard Morgan's acclaimed sci-fi novel of the same name) to become one of my geek obsessions in 2018. The company's first teaser offers a glossy fake commercial for PsychaSec, the technology behind said body-hopping high-tech immortality.
