While Gail Simone is, indeed, the bomb, I don't think her comments were as purely celebretory as they might seem.  Her observation about Wonder Woman's mom seems to insinuate that DC had considered and greenlighted lesbian marriages in the past, and therefore, MAYBE, Batwoman's writers' reasons for quitting are at least somewhat suspect.  This is reading a lot into her words, but I was just struck by how she seems to be providing Dan DiDio with additional cover for the fire he's got for (allegedly) nixing Batwoman's marriage.  Admittedly, he didn't do himself any favors in his remarks at Baltimore Comic-Con, but still...
