Nominations are in for the annual GLAAD Media Awards, and five comic books were highlighted for their "fair, accurate and inclusive" portrayal of the LGBT community.
For the past few weeks, the queer comic-verse has been spinning with news of Marvel and DC's competing LGBT announcements: '90s groundbreaking gay character Northstar's nuptials to boyfriend Kyle; and the introduction of a gay iteration of the iconic first Green Lantern Alan Scott.
Whenever I get to chatting with friends about porn superhero parodies, and for some reason the subject keeps coming up, at some point we wonder why the male gay porn market hasn't seized upon the genre, especially given the standard Batman and Robin taunts over the decades.
At this point, it seems highly likely that the new iconic character to get the homo treatment in the DC Universe is Alan Scott. Boy, I do not envy you, Alan, being gay, single, and over 40. You've got a rough road ahead of you.
