Good news for all you Twin Peaks lovers slash people who have reccently experienced a sudden and forceful attraction to Kyle MacLachlan (me. I'm talking about myself.) Deadline is reporting that the Showtime network will be reviving Twin Peaks for a third season, set to air in 2016.
In terms of story, Deadline notes "The new Twin Peaks will be set in the present day, more than two decades after the events in the first two seasons. It will continue the lore and story of the original series." Though casting announcements have yet to be made, MacLachlan did tweet this earlier today. Which, naturally, means I've been screaming at an octave only dogs can hear for the past seven hours. My dogs are not pleased with me.
MacLachlan is currently playing Skye's evil alien father on my beloved Agents of SHIELD. Though they are currently calling him 'The Doctor,' that makes tagging him on Tumblr extremely inconvienient, so I've just been going with "alien dad" or "Skye's father." He is also really concerningly attractive, despite the fact that he's supposed to be the creepy bad guy.
My love for Coop doesn't accept your boundaries, Agents of SHIELD.
It has yet to be announced if coffee will be returning to the show's third season, but I hope it will.
