It's Official: Geeks OUT is a Tax-Exempt Organization!

After nearly two years of hard work, Geeks OUT is happy to announce that it's received 501(c)3 recognition from the IRS. Yay! While that doesn't mean much in terms of our ongoing mission of rallying, empowering, and promoting the queer geek community, it will have important ramifications for how we operate. That means:

1. We're hoping to grow our organization and provide a larger, stronger network for queer geeks everywhere. Ideally, having tax-exempt status will connect us with donors who believe in our mission and whose resources can provide bigger and better programs and more outreach.

2. We'll be more transparent. With great power comes great responsibility, and that means letting you know how your contributions are being utilized, as well as who's running the show. While part of this is required by law, we think it's important to show the impact Geeks OUT is having in the community.

The past couple of years have been a great experience, and we could not have gotten here without the support of you, our fans. We're looking forward to the months and years to come, and this is an important step in that process (if you like what you've seen so far, feel free to make a tax-deductible contribution now!). Stay tuned for more details about our future programming and contact us if you have suggestions on how to make that happen!
