5 Games to Help Get You Through Winter

Winter is the season that kicks off the new year, and for many people around the world, winter brings cold and snow. On those days, when you just want to stay in and snuggle up in a blanket with your console of choice, these games will be there to make your winter a little warmer and a lot more fun!

1. Skyrim/Fallout

If you want an adventure while you’re staying indoors, look no further than Skyrim and/or the Fallout series. No matter what console you are playing on, there is so much to do in these games, you will not be bored. Follow the story, or go off on as many side quests as you want! Or just stay in the character customization screen for an hour or so. No one will judge.

2. Lost Constellation

Lost Constellation is a name-your-own-price PC game by the creators of the upcoming game Night in the Woods. It's a narrative that's related to the upcoming game, but rather than a prequel or a demo, it's described as a side-story. The music in this game is beautiful, as is the story, and it's able to be played in one sitting.

3. The Jackbox Party Pack 1, 2, and 3

Having friends over and want something fun to do? Grab one of the Jackbox Party Packs! There are three different packs to choose from and all have fun and unique multiplayer games (the links are to the PC versions, but they are also available for other consoles). Most of my favorite games are in the third pack, but all the packs are great! All you need is a computer or console to play them on and smartphones and/or tablets to act as controllers to enter information.

4. Kingdom Hearts

With Kingdom Hearts 2.8 just coming out, now is a great time to play, or to replay, the whole Kingdom Hearts series. With loveable Disney characters and a narrative beloved by many, Kingdom Hearts gives you entertainment in a way that only Disney can. With so many games on so many different systems, pick up whichever one you have and play it again, because Kingdom Hearts 3 will come out eventually!

5. Pokémon

Pokémon is a game series we can always turn to when we need something to play. While Pokémon GO got people outside and walking around, winter play is better indoors. Whether you're replaying a game from a previous generation, or still playing Pokémon Sun and Moon, it's definitely a great game to pick up and play.
