Queer Geek News Roundup: September 18, 2016

  • A teaser for the soon-to-premiere fourth season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. offers a first look at TV's new Ghost Rider. This is not the motorcycle daredevil Johnny Blaze played by Nicolas Cage in two poorly-received movies; instead, it's Robby Reyes, a Latino street racer in LA, played here by actor Gabriel Luna.

  • A video posted by Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts features star Tom Holland, a trained dancer, breakdancing in a motion-capture suit.

  • Given that there's still absolutely no casting announced, I was disappointed (but not surprised) to read that CBS has delayed Star Trek: Discovery from its original January 2017 premiere date until May. Hopefully, the delay will give the producers and writers more time to refine the show creatively, and deliver a show that doesn't disappoint anyone. (That's a joke; Star Trek has come to mean so many different things to different fans that it can't possibly please everyone. Still, it had better be good.)
