Queer Geek News Roundup: January 28, 2018

  • Remakes and reboots are as popular as ever, so it was probably inevitable that the murder mystery-themed board game Clue, previously adapted as a 1985 cult classic comedy, would get revisited. I’d expect this to have little in common with the previous film other than the names of Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock, and so on (in other words, not a direct remake of the previous film per se), but who knows? Anyway, it’s slated to reteam Ryan Reynolds with his Deadpool screenwriters, so it might still be funny.

  • In Strong Female Characters news, we got a first look at Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel in the first on-set photos. I’m not sure whether this is for the Captain Marvel film itself, or the 2019 Avengers movie (there are conflicting reports), but regardless it’s an interesting direction for the costume. Still hoping she dons the red-and-blue look for most of the time.
