Queer Geek News Roundup: February 18, 2018

  • A new teaser for Pixar's Incredibles 2 gives us superhero parenting slapstick, and some more of that Edna Mode fierceness I've been craving.

  • Deadpool director Tim Miller is working with longtime Marvel scribe Brian Michael Bendis on an X-Men-related film known only as 143. The online consensus is that this is probably a reference to a famous issue of the Uncanny X-Men comic wherein mutant Kitty Pryde battles a demon in the X-Mansion on Christmas.

  • In Kitty Pryde-adjacent news: Netflix has finalized the cast for The Umbrella Academy, an adaptation of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá's very weird (and very good) comic series of the same name. The series follows an estranged superpowered family who reunite to investigate the murder of their adoptive father, and will feature (among others) Ellen Page as the seemingly normal, unpowered odd-woman-out of the family, and Mary J. Blige as a time-traveling assassin.
